The Weather

Summer temperatures on the Kenai Peninsula can fluctuate greatly ranging from 40-80 degrees. Daytime temperature averages are about 60 degrees; water temperatures average about 40-50 degrees. Wind and rain are always possible. Hypothermia can occur in this area even during the summer months. There are a number of local stores that sell “Alaskan” clothing if you forget something. Click on the "What to Bring" button at the bottom of the page for the recommended list of clothing and other articles. Remember nothing can ruin a trip faster if you’re cold and wet; so plan for the unexpected.
